In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and finally done with precision and respect. (If he doesn’t get an Oscar for this, I’ll eat my feet, haha.)

The day after the project ended in March 2021, Austin was rushed to the hospital as his body began to “shut up.”

“You can lose touch with who you really are. And I definitely had that when I finished Elvis – I don’t know who I am,” he told GQ. “The next day I woke up at four in the morning in excruciating pain, and was taken to the hospital.”

“My body just started shutting down the next day after I finished ElvisAustin said.

Austin thinks they did it so he knows how Elvis felt when the audience teased him the first time he got on stage, but that didn’t stop him from having a profound effect on him.

“When I was on my first day in the recording studio, Baz wanted me to get as close to performing as possible,” Austin told VMAN of its Fall-Winter 2022 release. “He had all the executives and everyone from RCA, who came back to the offices, and he brought them into the recording studio and said, ‘I want you all to sit facing Austin’ and tell them to pester me.”

He added, “Then they were making fun of me and things while I was singing.”

In defense of what happened, Austin continued, “When we were filming the moment when Elvis first appeared on stage being harassed by the audience, I knew what I felt. I came home crying that night. I really did.”

Baz’s acting reputation preceded him a bit out of left field when directing films – Austin also revealed that only Leonardo DiCaprio warned him about the director’s approach after he landed the role.

talking on Physi and Weba On the podcast, Buzz said Austin “almost played” the role. “He just happened, for example, to live and breathe nonstop for two years like Elvis. He’s now going through something… deprogramming because it’s been so long since he’s known who he is,” said Baz.

In fact, Baz previously admitted that Austin was so devoted to embodying Elvis that he was sometimes unable to differentiate between when he was his main character in the character and when he was himself.

I asked one of my assistants [about Butler’s accent]And the man said: Well, he is not from the south. It’s from Anaheim [California],” said Buzz GQ. “I don’t think, until recently, that I actually came to understand what Austin actually looked like.”

Known for Elvis’ famous voice, Austin had to defend the fact that he still occasionally speaks with the Southern tie in interviews.

He told Yahoo! Lifestyle about his accent: “It’s funny because some situations lead to him, I think.” “You know, for example, being surrounded by his name everywhere and then two, it becomes, I think, something where, I mean, that’s the sound I’ve been speaking for two years.”

“It’s very usual at the end, you’re done and you kind of don’t remember your natural voice,” he added.

In a separate interview with Elle Australia, Austin said, “You spend so much time obsessing over one thing, and it’s really like muscle habits, your mouth can change. It’s really amazing.”

And I think it’s fair to say that a slight change in accent is a small price to pay for an impressive performance.
