Despite it being a dream project, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo won’t direct Avengers: Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige spoke to Deadline after Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con 2022 panel and was asked if The Russo Brothers will return to the MCU for the next two Avengers films.

“They’re not related to him,” said Figi. “I think they’ve been very upfront about it. We love them, they love us. We want to find something to do together, but it’s not that.”
The Russo brothers have been asked about a possible return to the MCU for Secret Wars for years, but they Often gives critical answers This was not a confirmation one way or the other. They recently spoke of their love for Secret Wars and revealed that it was “the only series we adored when we grew up.”
Secret Wars was first published in 1984 and was a twelve-issue limited series that was a major crossover event that saw The Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four collaborate against an alien threat. It also introduced the symbiote that would later be known as Venom.
It is important to know that the next two Avengers films are not released in theaters until May 2, 2025 and November 7, 2025, respectively. That means anything can change between now and then, but it’s clear that Feige and the team at Marvel have another plan for now.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars will end not only phase 6 of the MCU, but also the multiverse saga that will include phases 4, 5 and 6.
