Having spotlighted Nathan Ake, Matisse de Ligt, Presnel Kimpebe, and apparently Jules Conde – have you forgotten anyone else? Chelsea continue to throw wide nets (much farther than Cobham) in search of potential defensive reinforcements. One new name in this regard is centre-back, 21-year-old Benoît Badiashile, who currently plays for AS Monaco.
The France Under-21 international has caught the eye of many clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, which of course means Barcelona is there too. Badiashile has also been linked with Manchester United as well as Sevilla, who may view him as a potential replacement for the aforementioned Conde.
With two years left on his contract, Badiachel could be on his way to a new deal of course, while Monaco can set whatever price they want, such as €50m, a figure L’Equipe uses as the asking price.
Despite his young age, Badiashile has plenty of professional experience already, with over 100 matches with seniors. He made his debut for Monaco at the age of 17 and has been a key player for them for the past two years. He is tall, strong, quite athletic and has good ball-playing skills and some typical weaknesses of young players to go with these traits.
