Dontrez styles have a high degree of motivation after freshman season and important off-season development

Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Sophomore in North Carolina Dontrez أنماط patterns Heading into the 2022-23 season he plans to show more of his game to the nation.

After battling to see significant minutes throughout his first season at UNC, Styles made an impact during the early rounds of the UNC NCAA Championship.

The three style pointers to open overtime versus top seed Baylor in the second round of the tournament were one of the season’s hottest picks for the tar heels. However, it wasn’t his only contribution in that round of nine points, three bounces, and two moves. The performance changed the patterns of perception as a player and artist could become.

“The whole season has provided me with a lot of motivation,” Styles said during the summer media day of the UN leadership. “I haven’t really shown what I can really do. Everyone has an opinion of me, and that’s not really my game. I’m so excited. Can’t wait to be there and show what I can do.”

“I’m going to show how versatile my abilities are, how good I am at mutiny, defending, scoring. Everything on the ground, I feel like I can do. I think so.”

Help grow styles having former Tar Heel players at summer pick-up games and assistant coach tutorship Jackie Manuel.

“This was my first time [summer] Playing Justin Jackson, Styles said he’s always on the move without the ball and off screens. Guarding him was very difficult. Look MayI played against him last summer. He was stalking me. I would go to him. I feel this will make me a better player. Theo (Benson), Tyler Hansbro Or whatever, they’ll all make us better.

“This summer, I come here early, doing a lot of work. Coach Manuel works on my game, trusts my work, and I feel he will do me good.”

With a sudden change in training two months before he arrived on campus last year, Styles admitted he could have done a better job at blocking out background noise and focusing on his game. It’s a mistake he’s trying so hard not to make again.

“Last year, I didn’t have the proper preparation to be the best player I could be,” Styles said. “I know it’s going to work for me now, and I do it every single day. Doing whatever coach (Hubert) Davis wants me to do on the field is the biggest thing.”

Now with a full hiatus in Davis’s system under his belt and the team’s belt, Styles has revealed that morale is at an all-time high.

“Everyone got us back,” Styles said. “Just getting that would be exciting.” “The summer training was great. It was fun. Everyone is competing. Everyone is talking lively. Everyone is excited. It will be a special year.

“I feel like everyone has improved. We are better off now than we were last year. Everyone is closer. We can’t wait to get started.”

Tar Heels’ talent roster has been boosted with the addition of a Northwestern . transfer Nance’s house and Talented Recruitment Class of Three Men (Big Man Class 2022 will shave joined in early January).

Although Nance is expected to take on the role of Brady Mannick in the UNC attack, Styles was clear that the two don’t have the same skills.

“They are two completely different players,” Styles said. “Brady was more than just shooting. Pete can do everything on the ground. Both are great players, but Pete is just athletic. He can defend, he can bounce, he can do everything on the ground. I can’t wait to play with him.”

In terms of the Carolina Freshman class, Styles sees little of himself in point guarding Seth Trimble Triple believes Tyler NickelGalen Washington and Will Schaeffer will have a chance to shine sooner rather than later.

“Seth is an athlete, and I think he’s got some from me in that department,” Styles said. “I wasn’t that athletic when I was 17, but he’s special. He might have had more [hops] compared to me; I will not lie.

“Galen, he’s here working every day. He’ll be a special player too. Tyler Nickel is a great shooter. Will, the red jersey, will be special; he just has to keep working hard.”
