In recent days, controversy over who would win a hypothetical game between the 2017 Golden State Warriors and the 2001 Los Angeles Lakers has been running rampant within the NBA community. These two teams made history and dominated just as few of them did, opening the door to all these comparisons.
Everyone has something to say about it, as he chose one side between the super team of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, and the lethal duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.
For example, Curry went with his team, saying that he and Clay would be too much for the Lakers.
“…I don’t know who’s going to guard Shaq, but I don’t know who’s going to guard me and Clay either. We’re rocking with that. And three is better than two.”
On the other hand, Shaquille O’Neal stood with his Lakers, describing their defense and dominance in the paint as the biggest reason for the Warriors’ defeat.
“…Once they warm up, D-Fish sends him to all, and I might put his ass. Now, what’s going to happen after this design? You still gonna hit those three? And every time we’re done you’re three, you’re going to have to drive, and when you drive You have to worry about putting yourself out there. Steph, Klay and KD, I’ll test their ass along the way.”
However, a member of the Warriors recently participated in this discussion and offered a different view on this hypothetical duel. For Draymond Green, it’s hard to compare teams from different eras, and they took to Instagram to call out the media for those comparisons.
“That’s why you need real knowledge of basketball to really talk about the hoop. Brother compared points in every game. Impossible to compare for reasons over 1.3 percentage points 😂😂😂😂😂. Finally, who cares? New Media,” Green wrote.
It’s no secret that Green has an agenda against the old way of analyzing the game and expressing their opinions. He’s trying to change things up now, even when he’s active. He got plenty of opportunity for Fox Sports analysts, just as he did before with Skip Bayless.
As we all know, Draymond isn’t shy about speaking his mind, and whenever he sees something weird, he’s quick to criticize it.
