iPad Air 5 sees post-Prime Day discount of up to $559, more

Heading into the weekend, all of today’s best deals are headlined by Apple’s iPad Air 5 on sale from $559. It’s alongside the official iPhone 13 series cases from $28 and a rare markdown on the Philips Hue Gradient Ambiance Lightstrip at $102. Hit the jump for all that and more in the latest 9to5Toys lunch break.

iPad Air 5 wasn’t on sale for Prime Day, now down to $559

After Prime Day came and went without any price cuts, we were beginning to think Amazon had forgotten about Apple’s latest iPad Air 5. But now, to close out the week, the retailer is finally scaling back the most recent iPadOS experience. Right now, Amazon is offering the entry-level 64GB Wi-Fi iPad Air 5 starting at $559 in several colors. That’s down from the going rate of $599 and matches our previous mention for second-best price yet. You can also save $70 on the 256 GB capacity, as well as on the Wi-Fi + Cellular models.

Apple’s new iPad Air 5 arrives with the same desktop architecture as its other machines thanks to the Neural Engine-backed M1 chip. Its 12MP ultra-wide front camera takes center stage, and the 10.9-inch screen rocks True Tone, P3 wide color support, and an anti-reflective coating. Last-time staples like Touch ID in the power button and Apple Pencil integration are onboard too. Learn more about the iPad Air 5 in our coverage.

Official iPhone 13 series silicone MagSafe cases start at $28

Amazon is now rolling out a new batch of official iPhone 13 series cases to wrap up the work week. Offering the first price reductions in more than a month on Apple’s MagSafe silicone cases, multiple styles are available for each of the latest devices from $28. Each of the covers normally retails for $49, and today’s discounts either match the second-best prices yet or return to all-time lows, depending on the device and colorway.

Keeping the premium style of other official Apple cases, these silicone offerings protect your iPhone 13 series device with a soft-touch, grippy finish available in one of many styles. Along with the magnets that allow it to snap right onto the back of your device, there’s also support for Apple’s MagSafe charging relay. Head below for a full rundown of the new styles.

Philips Hue Gradient Ambiance Lightstrip sees rare $102 discount

Amazon currently offers the Philips Hue Gradient Ambiance Lightstrip for $102. Normally at $180, today’s offer marks a new all-time low at $78 off while beating our previous mention of $48. As one of the newest additions to the Philips Hue ecosystem launched in October, the Gradient Ambiance Lightstrip emerges as a long-awaited option for bringing addressable RGB lighting into your space.

It measures 6 feet long and, in addition to partnering with the largest Hue ecosystem on Zigbee for Siri, Alexa or Assistant integration, works by itself thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. The light strip extension is also for sale and seated at $42 from its usual price of $60. Get a closer look at the Hue Gradient Ambiance Lightstrip in our launch coverage.

Nanoleaf Starter Kits up to $170, and More

After going live earlier in the week for Prime Day, discounts on nearly the entire range of Nanoleaf HomeKit modular lights and accessories are on sale. Leading the way is its new Lines HomeKit Light starter kit for $170. As one of the very first price cuts so far from the usual $200 price, you’re looking at savings of $30 while marking a new all-time low at $10 less than previously mentioned. You can also save on the First Time 3-Pack Expansion Set at $55, down $70 and also marking a new all-time low. You can get a better idea of what to expect in our hands-on review.

Offering yet another unique addition to the Nanoleaf smart home stable, the new lines offer the same modularity the brand is known for with a different take on ambient lighting. Each of the nine included lines pairs with an adapter and can be stuck to the wall in different patterns. They then project light against the wall and sport the same multi-color output that allows them to play various effects in addition to your typical adjustable color and brightness settings. Not to mention support with HomeKit, Siri, and your other typical voice assistants that complete the package.

Anker Powerline + II USB-C Lightning Cable 2-Pack hits $25

Woot via Amazon now offers a 2-pack of Anker’s MFi PowerLine+ II USB-C to Lightning Cables for $25. Normally at $33, this is only the second notable price drop of the year and matches the first low of 2022 in March at 24% off.

Providing a pair of popular Lightning cables in your everyday carry or charging setup, each of these Anker Powerline+ II cords will let you take advantage of GaN charging speeds by terminating in a USB-C adapter. Each cable is also coated with a tough braided nylon exterior for added ability to withstand wear and tear.
