Jason Tatum Responds to Celtics Reportedly Showing Jaylen Brown in a Bundle for Nets’ Kevin Durant

Not long after a Report appeared That the Boston Celtics have offered Jaylen Brown in a package to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for disgruntled star Kevin Durant, Celtics forward Jason Tatum has made it clear that he is pleased with the team’s roster as it is currently created.

“I played with [Durant] During the Olympics,” Tatum said while speaking to members of the media at the premiere of the Showtime documentary “Point Gods.” “Obviously he’s a great player, but that’s not my decision. I love our team. I love the guys we got.

We got two new pieces [in Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari]”I love our team. I just go there and play with my teammates. I don’t put that down [general manager] to make decisions.”

Tatum also questioned the veracity of the report, citing the fact that similar reports have been incorrect in the past.

“I don’t know if this report is true or not… I can’t believe everything I see on TV,” Tatum said. “I’ve seen some [expletive] That was a lie to me. You don’t really know what’s right or what’s not.”

Given the fact that Tatum made these comments publicly, they probably don’t reflect how he really feels about the situation. After all, he’s not likely to say, “Yes, I want the team to trade Jaylene Brown,” even if he actually did. But at the same time, Tatum has reason to be happy with the Boston List as it is currently created.

The team was just two wins away from winning the championship last month, and they have improved on paper over the holiday season with the additions of Brodgon and Gallinari. It really is possible that Tatum wouldn’t want to change the roster drastically after the success of last season.

In the end, the decision is out of Tatum’s hands. If the front office in Boston wants him badly enough and is willing to meet the very high asking price, Durant will likely start next season in a Celtics outfit.
