TL; DR

  • Nubia Red Magic 7S Pro will soon be available for sale globally.
  • The gaming-optimized smartphone is a high-end version of the early Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro versions.
  • It will be available for pre-orders on August 2, starting at $729.

Several months after Nubia launched the Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro, the company released an updated version, the Red Magic 7s Pro (via Fonerina). The phone was launched in China last month and will soon be available for sale globally.

Like the Red Magic 7, the 7S Pro will have a 6.8-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 960Hz touch sampling rate. However, the new phone will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, compared to the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor found on the regular Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro versions. The new phone also has its own dedicated chip for non-graphics gaming operations, such as audio and haptic interactions.

Like older phones, Red Magic 7s Pro has a dedicated cooling system that protects the phone from overheating while playing games. There have been some improvements to this system, including a graphene heat storage plate and an expanded vapor chamber. The phone also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 5,000mAh battery with wired charging support up to 65W for the global version.

The phone also has a 16-megapixel front camera with a 64-megapixel main rear camera, an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

Red Magic 7s Pro will start at $729/€779/£669 for the version that has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with an Obsidian color option. You can also get the phone with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for $899/€949/£809 at Mercury and Supernova. The Mercury option has a translucent silver piece back to show off some of the phone’s inner workings. Early bird sales begin August 2, with official sales launching August 9.
