As Samsung prepares for the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10, the company has opened reservations for its upcoming devices. Samsung has not yet revealed details about these devices, but we can guess that there will be foldables, smartwatches and earphones.
We asked our readers if they were holding any of the upcoming Samsung devices and which ones they were interested in. Nearly 40% of voters said they would pass the Samsung device reservation, and that forfeits the $200 credit. However, almost 30% said they keep the phones, providing the most credit for each individual device. There were more than 18% still on the fence.
One reader, Benjamin Jagun, was very adamant about not wanting to get another Samsung smartphone and stick with Google devices like the upcoming Pixel Watch:
“Never get another Samsung again, they are too overpriced, sooner I will buy an iPhone via Samsung, Google will make my next Android phone and watch.“
Another reader, Jonathan Monestell, was also not a fan of the newer Galaxy smartphones, complaining that the company seemed more focused on removing features than innovating:
“I won’t be getting any more Samsung phones. The S21 Ultra is here and across the new phones they lack innovation or upgrade features, plus many other devices fail. The camera still needs a lot of improvement and the sensors are also failing.“
Other readers echo those sentiments, saying that Samsung isn’t giving users much reason to upgrade, with one even complaining about rumors about removing the rotating bezel with the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5.
Samsung recently boasted about its foldable phone sales, saying that the industry shipped nearly 10 million foldable phones in 2021. The company is also excited about its upcoming foldable launch, though rumors speculate that the phones won’t differ much from their predecessors.
