A man who shared his brother’s unusual eating habits has caught the attention of the virus online.
Reddit user, who goes by the name Waffles, is from California. The 14-year-old lives with his 18-year-old brother who has an unusual habit when it comes to ready-made macaroni and cheese.
In a post on the popular r/Mouldlyinfuriating forum, he explained, “My brother only eats the packets of cheese in instant macaroni and cheese and then puts them back on the shelf.”
With more than 25,000 votes in favor, the instant cheese habit is far from the first time an exotic food choice caught the virus’s attention. In 2021, TikTok users gained attention after creating unusual recipes from history, including a Jell-O salad from the 1950s and a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich that left stomachs floundering.
This year, one restaurant’s “specialty” pizza scared the internet after a viral post featured pizza including a thick dough base, marinara sauce, toppings including salami or bell peppers, and a lid of American cheese in large square slices.
The instant cheese fan got attention as Reddit users asked, “How to consume it? Just eat the powder with a spoon or something?”
“He opens the can and sprinkles it in his mouth,” replied the waffles.
He’s not the only one whose snacking habits have been judged — a survey of 2,000 Americans recently revealed that 69 percent of people in long-term relationships admitted that they judged their partner for eating certain foods.
But unusual foods weren’t completely avoided either. Two out of three people said they would try apple pie with cheddar, but only one in four said they would try bean pie.
Reddit user Waffles said NEWSWEEK: “I have no idea how long he’s been doing this, but he’s gone through a whole bunch of instant macaroni and cheese.”
Although his brother never explained why, Waffles joked, “It’s generally weird. He did his best to eat weird food. It caused an argument, who wants mac without cheese? Also, pasta is stale since it’s in the outside. “
The post about his brother’s unusual habit grabbed widespread attention and sparked hundreds of comments from Reddit users.
“It’s not easy being cheesy,” one viewer of the post joked, while another said, “It should be stopped lol.”
One commenter said, “Throw it away, your brother is broken,” while one asked, “Is he… evil?”
Another Reddit user said: “Call the priest…or the exorcist…or if the ghost hunters can? Maybe the police.”
