WTA Prague Day 4 Predictions including Krejcikova vs Hibino

The rest of the second round matches will end on Thursday at the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open level. The big names come to play on Day 4, including top seed Anett Kontaveit and second-seeded and top-seeded Czech Barbora Krejcikova. Alize Cornet and Anastasia Potapova are another top-seeded couple who will start as heavy favorites. Will we see upsets or will all the top seeds head to the quarter-finals?

WTA Prague Day 4 Predictions

Alizé Cornet against Linda Noskova

H2H: First meeting.

Alize Cornet is back in action this week after a very successful season on grass, highlighted by a stunning upset win over Iga Swiatek at Wimbledon. The French veteran made a strong start to the campaign in Prague with a 6-2 6-3 win over Anastasia Zakharova. Cornet is expected to pick up another convincing win when she takes on 17-year-old wild card Linda Noskova on Thursday. Cornet’s versatility and experience make her a very tough opponent for players of Noskova’s inexperience.

Anet Kontaveit vs Lucia Havlickova

H2H: First meeting.

Anett Kontaveit wasted little time on the pitch in a 6-0 6-1 first-round demolition of Ekaterine Gorgodze. A similar one-sided result can be expected in her second-round match with local wild card Lucie Havlickova. Havlickova, 17, has shown signs that she will soon make a name for herself on the WTA Tour, but facing a player of Kontaveit’s level for the first time will likely expose the holes in her immature game.

Anastasia Potapova vs. Lin Zhu

H2H: First meeting.

Anastasia Potapova continued her recent strong form with a 6-1 6-2 first-round win over the dangerous Xinyu Wang. The Russian is again expected to prevail against a Chinese opponent when she faces Lin Zhu in the second round. Zhu won a solid 6-1 6-1 first round over Vitalia Diatchenko but has generally struggled lately. Potapova is the logical choice here based on recent form.

Barbora Krejcikova vs. Nao Hibino

H2H: Hibino 1-0.

Barbora Krejcikova began her title defense in Prague with a predictably easy 6-3 6-1 victory over Anna Blinkova. 2022 has been a real disappointment for Krejcikova, there is a good opportunity for her to start salvaging something from the season this week in Prague. Nao Hibino is already having a good week in Prague after making it through the qualifying draw before comfortably beating Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-2 6-2 in the first round of the main draw. Nonetheless, Hibino is very likely to be outclassed in this match, she is unlikely to have consistent weapons to hurt Krejcikova on this occasion.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 2
